Tideway follows the day rather than the clock. Breakfast stretches into the late morning, the library faces the changing sea, and the kitchen builds each menu around the boats returning to harbour.
“The coast does the talking; the hotel simply gives you somewhere beautiful to listen.”

The shoreline around Tideway changes character several times a day. Low tide opens long shelves of sand and rock pools; later, the water returns against the harbour wall and the landscape becomes more compact and dramatic. Guests can build a day around the coastal path, small fishing towns and long pauses indoors with a view of the weather moving across the sea.
The kitchen works with a short list of nearby boats, growers and bakers rather than a fixed year-round menu. Breakfast is generous and unhurried, lunch stays deliberately simple, and dinner moves through the best produce available that day. The experience is designed for hotel guests first: polished enough for an occasion, relaxed enough to return on a second evening.
Two nights allow time for a sea walk, a long supper and an afternoon in the salt room without turning the visit into an itinerary. A third night makes space for a drive along the coast or a quieter day in the library. Tideway suits couples, solo travellers and friends who value calm rooms, good food and a hotel that does not ask them to keep busy.
